about

My friend Gerold Tischler and I had been talking about doing some acoustic recordings for what feels like forever and had never the time to get it done.

On Saturday 6th July 2013, we decamped to his dungeon basement and indulged in some lo-fi acoustic recordings.

Here are the results.

credits

released July 8, 2013

All songs performed by Derrick Johnston.

Thanks to Gerold Tischler for being a gentleman and a scholar.

Track Name: Don't Ask Questions
You lit the fire
Watched it grow
You were the spark
But you lost all control.
We still in the dark
As hearts explode.

We set this path
A lonesome road
Bonded by blood
And dreams that erode
Our sense of self.
It's ego all told.

Yet time, time still marches on.
Is it metaphor?
Is it song?
Why are you waiting?
Just move along.
Don't ask questions.
All my answers are wrong.

So take the leap
Let it all go
Maybe then we'll see
Maybe then we'll know.
We still live in a dream
An illusion it seems

Yet time still marches on
Missing metaphors
Singing songs
Why are you waiting?
Get, going, gone.
Don't ask questions
All my answers are wrong.

I'm too damn young to feel this old
My voice is weak
My heart is cold.
We missed the boat
An open goal
But I still love you
And I just can't let you go.

Yet time still marches on
Is it metaphor?
Is it song?
Why are you waiting?
Just move along.
Don't ask questions
All my answers are wrong.
