I don't know where to start, it's been a long time, boy. Old Albert passed, he was 86. Scotty lines the fairway, he's got a good lie. Watches me with father's eyes while I shoot the albatross, watch the eagle hit the deck. Split the pin with no regret. Don't drive so far that you lose who you are. Tunnel vision takes you too far. Now we've lost it. Old Joy's still here. Danny writes his poetry, illuminating history, but the kids don't care. They're all broke beyond repair; “line 'em up in the square”, like the good old days. All we had was a right to fight for the light out on the hill. Now we've lost it. When I never had a home You were my place to go. I can't visit here Watch a childhood disappear into faded old photographs. The light still burns bright, pierces through the darkness night in all directions, I'm thankful for the voice. Janey's lessons gave me choice, eternally grateful. I promise to use it. I promise to you. When I never had a home You were my place to go.
2.
I know you're angry, you scream it every day at me but you misdirect your hate and rage with the worldview of a tabloid front page. Now you've had your say, expressed yourself in a violent way, screaming “we want out!” without thought or doubt as you give your country away. Come on home, hero. Say you get what you want, it's not the war your grandaddy fought. If the earth can't breathe we'll miss the tress and die in underwater cities. Come on home, hero. When there's nowhere left to run we can't undue all the damage we've done. As a human race, at times we've been great but mostly we've been a disgrace. As a human race, at times we've been great but mostly we've been a disgrace. Come on home, hero.

Old Words 03:50
I learned just like everybody else that I am made of bone, blood, soft flesh, when I cut myself open in front of you to prove my heart was pure. Now I'm not so sure I've swam too far from the shore. I caught a glimpse when I was young. A shape of this punk to come; set adrift on half-truth, a partially-written logbook. Your gift is my curse. With age it just gets worse. Sand turns time's hand and still I don't understand. Old words that you told me Always drift away. Old words that you told me Haunt me everybody. You'll never be tired, you'll never grow old Never lose another fight or write another poem. You'll never get sick, never be in pain Never see your loving son's hopeful face again. You'll never feel the rage, never feel the hate Never make the same old dumb mistakes again. When I breathe deep I'll be incomplete but I guess I'll always know what old words meant to me.

Three Two 03:32
Tired? I'm exhausted. Sanity?I think we lost it somewhere between California and Colorado Springs. Our behaviour is our badge of dishonour. It's 8am, let's have a beer a million miles from home. Bored? I'm intoxicated. Sensible? Well, I've replaced it with a fresh enthusiasm for trying to ruin my life. It's 8am, it begins; a shot of whisky in my hands. It's white lines and sunshine, not real life. If I make it through today I swear to you I'll change my ways. All I need is just to hear you say “You're not alone”. Give me strength not to be strong. “Together we can conquer anything”. Burnt out, forever jaded. There's no hope being medicated for all my unhappiness, I live to feel the burn of a life lived on the edge of self-destruction. My enlightened phases are just clever phrases. If I make it through today I swear to you I'll change my ways. All I need is just to hear you say “You're not alone”. Give me strength not to be strong. “Together we can conquer anything”.

So long, thank you for everything. For a minute there I thought that we would win the game but deep in extra time I scored an own goal. Spectacular, sublime. Start strong, all hopes exceeded. Finish just as strong, remain undefeated. Do it right, it's just good booking. Fits the story arc, keeps them eyeballs looking. Sometimes home's more lonely than the road, chasing ghosts to watch a heart explode. Is it time? We're driving home with no map, no place to call my own. No sleep but I'm still grateful for every mile, every scar and needle. Tattoo-deep in misery. Spill my guts out as I fall to my knees. Sometimes home's more lonely than the road, chasing ghosts to watch a heart explode. Is it time? We're driving home with no map, no place to call my own. We can't drive forever. Better now than never. Maybe some day we'll find home.

Pink Couch 03:27
Please come in, take off your coat, sit across from me. It's been a while since you've been here. Tell me everything that's been happening and, please, at least try to be sincere; you're paying to be here. Trace your steps back to the start, learn again to fall apart, there's nothing left to fear. Open up your heart's deepest cuts so we can bleed bad blood out from the source. Just give me a pink couch or a wicker chair. It makes no difference to me, I just need to clear the air. Just give me a pink couch or a wicker chair. It makes no sense at all if you're in love with your despair. See you again in six months time, the conversation's been sublime, but for now that's all we have. Now that our time is at an end please remember we're not friends, but thanks for being sincere. Just give me a pink couch or a wicker chair. It makes no difference to me, I just need to clear the air. Just give me a pink couch or a wicker chair. It makes no sense at all if you're in love with your despair. You just don't care, no. Just give me a pink couch or a wicker chair. It makes no sense at all if you're in love with your despair. And you despair.
7.
With unforgiveable sin, another chapter begins. We've seen things that we shouldn't have seen now we're burdened with routine. You gave me your last breath, your final drop of blood. Now I see through the misery that's always lived in me. It breaks my heart to believe it. It burns my lungs to breathe in. It shatters my voice to scream it but I've got this. The sins of the father are now borne by the son. Don't dream of peace, just admit defeat. Now you'll die for this. It breaks my heart to believe it. It burns my lungs to breathe in. It shatters my voice to scream it but I've got this. Freedom is never free, It's a lie that's been sold to me. When we check out, I'll shed my doubts and be who I've always dreamed. It breaks my heart to believe it. It burns my lungs to breathe in. It shatters my voice to scream it but I've got this. Yeah, I've got this.
8.
I want someone to pay me just for being me, the little ray of sunshne burning through your misery. I'm the path of least resistance, I'm easy, one two three. Count on me. I need everyone to notice when I'm not around. I need everyone to love me, my head's up in the clouds. “Hey man, you know I've got this” “I've learned my A, B, C”. Count on me. I'm jealous of your family. I'm jealous of your house. I'm jealous of you paycheck so don't tell me what it's all about. I heard it's true so I've got no doubt. You sold me out. Hey man, I poured my heart out. You only heard the words. You're running out of bridges and burning up my nerves. Now I don't have the answers, just words that I've rehearsed with different verbs. I'm jealous of your family. I'm jealous of your house. I'm jealous of you paycheck so don't tell me what it's all about. I heard it's true so I've got no doubt. You sold me out. You sold me out.
9.
No Advice 03:47
I've got no advice, no quick fixes for you. We all tread our own path; “to thine own self be true”. But if you ask me, I'll tell you everything. I won't walk away. You are never alone. I won't tell you “it's fine, everything will be okay”. Most days, it's a fight. Only you can light your way. But if you ask me, I'll tell you everything. I won't walk away. You are never alone. Given time, scars will fade but they'll wash away. “All paths to the end”, little victories every day. But if you ask me, I'll tell you everything. I won't walk away. You are never alone. You are never alone.
10.
How can you claim to know when empirical evidence shows it's speculation, at best, a fabrication that fails the test, a fallacy? What defence have we to say when the greatest minds alive today have tried to warn us it's beyond time? An intervention would be divine. We're blowing this. You can hear the screaming. Watch the cities burning. Tears are streaming down your face. Running for a life. Where's your humanity? It'll take more than protest songs to explain all that's gone wrong. They have gambled with our lives. Snakes are charming but full of lies. We fell for it. You can hear the screaming. Watch the cities burning. Tears are streaming down your face. Running for a life. Where's your humanity? If we can't even save ourselves there's no hope for anyone else or other planets we travel to. We'll just destroy them, it's what we do. We're dangerous. You can hear the screaming. Watch the cities burning. Tears are streaming down your face. Running for a life. Where's your humanity? If you don't understand without an explanation, you'll never understand.
